One of my best friend’s is a dog, his name is J-dub, short for John Wayne. He unfortunately had to undergo surgery for bladder stones and got neutered at the same time. The vet prescribed painkillers (a form of oxycodone) that made him so out of it he couldn’t move, drooling uncontrollably and seemingly over-drugged. I decided to give him Everything’butter and also used it topically on the wounds / stitches. It worked so well, he was alert, sedated enough to leave his wounds alone, rested well yet NOT in pain. Made for a very positive healing experience.
Once he healed enough to go for a run when another mishap took place and he got bit by a large dog which resulted in a wound that called for a few stitches about 1.5 inches long and deep, just missed a vein or artery (as it was view-able when looking down into the wound). We didn’t want to take him back to the vet again as he had experienced plenty of trauma with the emergency surgery (and contracted kennel cough, which the butter also supported healing). With the aid of a DIY-crafted partial face mask to hold the skin together (after a proper cleaning of course) we then proceeded to put the Everything’butter on it daily and continued to give him a bead to small pearl size dose orally to curb pain and manage his anxiety. The wounds from surgery healed perfectly with a barely visible scar and his face wound healed beautifully!
